How many people with HPV will develop Throat Cancer?
Your question isn’t easy to answer as we do not know how many people have HPV in that area. The only thing we know is that there have been an increased number of head and neck cancers that are HPV positive. It is not limited to the throat and it can occur in males and females. These numbers have also increased in anal/rectal cancers. Just as with cervical cancer, HPV is a risk for developing cancer, but it does not mean you absolutely will develop it.
