One of the key principles underpinning this Reform is that employment security will be maintained for existing permanent public sector employees. The aggregation of services into the three SSCs will reduce the number of full time equivalents (FTEs) required by the public sector by some 700. However, in line with Government policy, there will be no forced redundancies. The reduction in agency based Corporate Services positions will be achieved through natural attrition, redeployment and retraining over the three year transitionary period. Staff undertaking new roles in SSCs or agencies and will be provided with training and development opportunities to ensure they are prepared for the transition to their new work environment.
