How many people who smoke know the consequences?
I don’t smoke but I know a lot of people who do. The majority of smokers are well aware of the risks, they just don’t care. They all think “it won’t happen to me”. Case in point, my husband works with a girl who smokes. Her family has a history of Emphysema, she’s had at least two relatives die from it, and her kids have asthma and other bronchial problems, AND her doctor has told her several times, that she needs to quite. She claims she can’t do it. My husband’s tried to offer the patch, but she says she’s allergic to it, and the gum just makes her jittery. So, she knows the effects and risks, and still refuses to do anything to stop. I say they’re all stupid. Why waste money on something that will kill you? I know, it’s a drug. It’s addicting. But many people have proven you can quite smoking with no problems, and you even get HEALTHIER!! Oh well. I don’t smoke. Never have, never will.
