How many people read articles before they e published?
At least three people see each item before it gets into print. Sometimes, that number is even larger. The logical next question is: “If so many people read it, how come news contains typographical errors or errors in fact?” The answer, quite simply, is that we miss things. Literally thousands of individual news items cross our desks every week: wire stories, local news stories, calendar listings, entertainment notices, sports box scores, wedding announcements — the list goes on. The vast majority of those individual items are double-checked and published correctly. But errors do occur. We publish corrections for factual errors as soon as possible.
