How many people like Grease the Musical?
I have been in two productions of Grease. In one I sang “Born to Hand Jive” and was a chorus member the rest of the time; in the other, I was the choreographer. Grease is a good musical but resist the temptation to make the changes that were made into the movie. Do not make the lyric changes, and unless you have Olivia Newton-John in your cast, do not add “Hopelessly Devoted to You.” Also, try not to skip over any numbers; all have the possibility of bringing down the house. In the production I was in, a couple of numbers were merely sung; while in the production I choreographed, the first nnumber of the second act was used as an Entre’Acte and played in the pit but not sung. In the Broadway and touring productions, both of these numbers are showstoppers!
