How many people in the world have got the eye condition Ocular Migraine?
I have suffered from migraines since I was a small child…..now in my late 50’s and they are finally much better thanks to hormonal changes. I had one episode of what was eventually diagnosed as an Ocular Migraine. It started as a visual disturbance that I can only describe as only being able to see through cracked glass. I could not read my computer screen and started to feel disorientated. No headache at this point though. I had to leave work and was seen in the emergency dept of the nearest hospital….still no headache……my vision cleared and I went back to work and then one of the worst migraines I’ve ever had hit with a vengeance Luckily I took my medication just as it started and was able to lay down for a couple of hours and it did ease. I haven’t had a similar episode since. I did see a neurologist and had an MRI & CAT scan which were negative so the only explanation they could give was that it was an Ocular Migraine.
