Tagged As: Occular Migraines Question: I do not have migraine headaches but have had occular migraines off and on over a long period of time. All I know about them is what they are called. But I’ve been told they can be cause by hormones like when a woman goes through the change. I’ve been there, done that. After a year of not having any, the other day I had two within an hour. The next day I had one. Apparently these were caused by emotions. Happened to be seeing my GP during this time period and he agreed with me. I hang it on to the acupuncture theory of eyes=liver, anger, etc., etc., and I had been very angry. But what I would most like to know are: what is happening physiologically; how many people have these occular migraines without the headaches; what, if anything, is new about what causes them. I tried to look up the subject on the Internet and found almost nothing. Mine last almost exactly 20 minutes. Sometimes I can sense one coming some minutes before I actually see it. Ans
