I know many people won’t agree or even understand this, but I think serving in the military is one of the most rewarding things people can do. Especially in the United States, the military can give you some really great training, build you up physically and mentally, instill a great sense of confidence in you, and give you great opportunities to travel and broaden the mind. Plus, they pay you for it. It’s a really good deal. Now I know because of the war in Iraq many people would be hesitant about joining, but put in perspective I think everyone who has any interest in serving their country and paying it back for everything it provides should consider military service. It’s hard to say what the figures are worldwide, but right now only about 1% of the population is serving in the U.S. armed forces.
