How many people have even heard about the Sikh religion?

0

Many of my close friends are Sikh. Sikhism is a monotheistic religion that descended from Hinduism. It is a relatively small religion, mostly in the region of Northern India known as Punjab. Only about 7-8% of India is Sikh. Sikhism was most publicized after the 9/11 attacks when counts of at least 5 shootings and several assaults occurred because they were mistaken for Muslims. About 90% of the people in the United States who wear turbins are actually Sikhs. Hope that helps!
