How many people have died as a result of wars in the world?
My understanding is that the US lost 294,000 soldiers in World War 2. Compare that with the 10 million civilians that were murdered under Hitler’s command, six million Jews, and the four million handicapped, mentally disabled, gay, gypsies, etc., etc. It’s no secret that people die in war. But I’ll ask you this: Comparing the soldiers who fought and died in the war — my grandfather and uncles among them — how many more would have died under Hitler had the fight not been taken up to turn him back? You can always make the argument that war is wrong. But can you make the argument that while war is deplorable, it is right to stand by and do nothing as some upstart brigand decides he wants to take over the world?
My Dear Tim B, War is not primarily because of mankind’s greediness. War is because of Mankind’s Fall. Given that Fall at the beginning of time, War is actually sent by God: to show man how incapable he is of rulning the world right, and also to move world events forward to the End, when Christ can come, to set up a New and Glorious World, where Peace, Joy and Love will everywhere prevail. Jesus and his Angels will rule the World from Jerusalem for 1000 years, It will be Paradise on Earth. It will be the Kingdom of God on Earth. May Jesus come soon.
