How many people does the center serve? How many GLBT people are there at SIUC?
The GLBT Resource Center serves the entire campus and community, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Many non-GLBT people use the resources of the center to address personal and professional needs. We do not have direct data on the number of GLBT people at SIUC, but national statistics suggest that between 5% and 10% of the population is gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender.
