How many people die each day from smoking?
Smoking related diseases runs into over 100,000 in the UK. http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/2306882… It is not the lung cancer that gets most of them (30,000 a year) but heart disease. Then there are all the other horrendous cancers (throat, nose, mouth, larynx) and emphysema. Have you ever looked at the pictures of people with face cancer?! So awful. Pancreatic cancer which is also caused by smoking is supposed to be one of the worst Patrick Swazy is dying from that one right now. I was a long term smoker but finally managed to kick the habit nearly two years ago. Now I have my fingers crossed that it will make a difference but there is no guarantee having smoked for so long. Why anyone should worry about swine flu is beyond me. A few 100 or possibly 1000 might die from it but smoking, drinking and obesity kills millions worldwide every year!
