In 2007 it was estimated that 5,700,000 South Africans had HIV/AIDS, which is more than any other single country in the world, and that nearly one in six people in the world with HIV/AIDS were South African. It was also estimated in 2007 that 18% of all South Africans had HIV/AIDS, which is the 4th highest prevalance figure in the world.
