NEWARK — More than 50 people are expected to board a Newark charter bus Saturday morning to protest government spending at the foot of the nation’s Capitol. Advertisement Pat Haag, of Newark, said that after feeling increasingly frustrated with national leadership, he joined a Licking County Tea Party group a couple of weeks ago and decided to charter the bus to Washington, D.C. “I just wanted to jump on a bus and go,” he said. “We are the silent majority, and we’ve had enough. You can’t spend your way out of bankruptcy.” The bus will depart at 12:30 a.m. Saturday from the park-and-ride lot near Damon’s. It will pick up riders in Zanesville and Wheeling, W.Va., on its way to Fairfax, Va., where occupants will join rallies for the Taxpayer March on D.C., organized by the national Tea Party.
