How many people are employed by the Secret Service?
The Secret Service employs approximately 2,100 special agents, 1,200 Uniformed Division officers, and approximately 1,700 other technical, professional, and administrative support personnel. The Secret Service Uniformed Division is a uniformed force whose members protect the White House Complex, the Vice President’s residence and foreign embassies and missions in the Washington, D.C.,area. Members of the Uniformed Division also perform other missions in support of the protection of the President, such as operating magnetometers, countersnipers, canine handlers, and special operations posts.
