How many parts are there for each beam?
The term “beam” is not commonly used in metal building construction. In a clear span metal building, the primary framing consists of columns and rafters. Columns stand at intervals along both the sidewalls, and rafters connect the top of every column with the one across from it (across the width of the building). Columns come fully assembled in one piece while rafters come in two pieces which are bolted together during construction. A mainframe consists of two columns and a rafter plus the necessary nuts and bolts to connect them together.
