How many of you quit Kyokushin Karate and took up?

I began with Goju Ryu in 1978 and started training Kyokushin in 1989. I enjoyed how they complimented each other knowing that Kyokushin has a lot of Goju in it. I still train both to this day but it is very hard to teach the Kumite aspect of Kyokushin because people see us train and they never come back to study in that class. Today I reserve Kyokushin only for my students who attain black belt level at our dojo. The classes are closed and we do not allow children nor visitors to attend the class nor watch it. Not all of my black belts train in that class either since it is not for everyone but those of us that do enjoy it…A LOT. The Kyokushin dojo I trained at only had around 15 students, all adults. People came and went at a high rate due to the training but those of us that stuck it out until the Sensei moved away are still as close today as we were back when our gis were covered with each other’s blood. That is an aspect of true Karate that many people are unfortunately missing o
