How many of the CCSS K-12 standards are covered in the Common Core Curriculum Maps for ELA?
Every standard in the English Language Arts CCSS is covered in the maps, most more than once. Any teacher who chooses to teach from these maps would not have to worry about whether they were addressing all of the standards that apply to their grade. Standards citations are included after each sample activity/assessment to illustrate alignment. Each grade includes a “standards checklist” showing which standards are covered in which unit. Here is an example from grade 8. Also, most of the works listed as exemplar texts (E) in the Appendix B of the CCSS are included as suggested texts in our maps.
