ACARA has proposed that in Years 11 and 12 in the Phase 1 development there will be Australian curriculum documents for: • 4 English courses: • a course focusing on further development of literacy and language skills for effective participation in work, training and community, social and civic life • a course focusing on students for whom English is an additional language • a course focusing on extending students use of language and meet the demands for further study, work and community, social and civic life • a course focusing on literature. • 4 Mathematics courses: • a course focusing on applied mathematics for everyday life • a course focusing on mathematics suitable for preparation for further study with a moderate demand in mathematics • a course focusing on substantial development of mathematical knowledge and higher level mathematics • a course focusing on students with a strong interest in mathematics and study in mathematics or engineering. • 4 Science courses: • Biology • Ch
