And of all persons, Tim Geithner, being an expert on tax issues, knew that fully well. At the time he was nominated by then President-elect Obama, Mr. Geithner was serving as the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, a position that requires one who’s more than familiar with financial matters, including tax laws.
