How many months days hours and minutes did the constitutional convention last?
The convention met from May 25 to Sept 17, 1787 in the state house in Philadelphia. Fifty-five delegates from 12 of the 13 states took part. How many minutes, hours did they meet is hard to tell, but guessing no more than 8 hours a day. They didn’t have electric lights, air conditioning or other modern things and they kept the windows of the room closed because they didn’t want people to hear them. Plus, they wore wool suits and were meeting in the spring and summer months so it had to be hot in the room. I also imagine some of the discussion went on after hours as well between delegates so that can’t be measured or known about. We only know what we know because James Madison took very good notes every day.
