How many mommies took a birthing class?
I kinda wish I did, just so I could’ve felt more prepared about what happened in the delivery room. I had a straight forward, problem free birth, with the use of the epidural. The nurses and the doctor were helpful…they told me what to do and when to do it, so I guess the class wasn’t entirely necessary.
I did and I personally thought it would be a waste of time, but my class was actually really informative and I loved it! My instructor was great and there was more to the class than just breathing, which was what I thought it was going to be about! We also did a hospital tour with it, which was really awesome! Try and have an open mind about it. I personally found it handy. BTW I did go into with a very closed mind. My mom who was a 15 year labor and delivery nurse pushed me into it! I am glad that she did.
If you have a birthing plan which you seem to have I wouldn’t go. I didn’t ever do any kind of birthing class with my two kids. i think they are basically classes to help you get familiar with the birth process and see which options are available. I knew I wanted a drug free natural birth if possible and trusted my doctor. I wouldn’t go.
