if your thinking water vs milk then a water bowl should be there with fresh water all the time cats do not over indulge they will drink only what they need no matter their age. and milk is contrary to oppinion not good for them in fact none of the cats i have had since i was old enough to know cats and love them was ever introduced to milk and they did not have urinary stones or infections they lived long lives without milk.hope it is well soon but same rule applies sick or well.
