It depends on how thick the steak is. Also depends on how hot the grill is. 2 inches thick I would do 3 minutes per side. If you want the crosshatch grill marks then get the grill hot place the steak on the grill leave the steak on about 1 minute rotate it about 90 degrees and leave it for 2 minutes flip the steak and repeat on the other side. If you do not have a thermometer you can touch the steak to test for “doneness” Hold your hand in a light fist, the fleshy part of your fist between the thumb and forefinger rare will feel like that. Tighten the fist a little more and press in the same spot that is medium. Ball the fist hard and press in the same spot that is well done.
