How many minutes are Pennsylvania districts required to teach art, dance, music and theatre?
Minutes are not required on any level in any curricular area. Title 22- Education, Chapter 4, Section 4.21, 4.22, 4.23 states that ALL students are to demonstrate a proficient level in art, dance, humanities, music, and theatre as the Pennsylvania Academic Standards in the Arts and Humanities define by grades 3, 5, 8 and 12. Each school district and school entity is to provide the appropriate length of time necessary for all students to demonstrate the proficient level.
