How many members sit on each Local Board?

0

The membership of the Local Boards is limited to the Heads of each local CJS agency (i.e. the chief officers of police, probation service, the courts, the Crown Prosecution Service, Youth Offending Teams, and the Prison Service). Each Board is entitled to co-opt additional members if they feel it is necessary, e.g. a representative of Victim Support, or the Association of Police Authorities (APA) representative when strategic goals are being agreed. A provision has also been made for the Probation and Prison services to elect one person onto the Board who jointly represents the interests of both organisations.
