How many mealworms should i feed my bearded dragon?

Actually, mealworms aren’t good for a beardie. The hard outer shell is hard to digest and pound for pound, they are just not as nutritious as other types of bugs. You can feed silkworms, phoenix worms, hornworms, crickets or one of the several types of feeder roaches. Waxworms are not a good staple bug, either. They are very high in fat and lack in other nutritive value, and also addictive for beardies. Meaning, once they get a taste, they don’t want to go back to the more nutritious worms. Never feed a bug bigger than the space between your beardie’s eyes. Here’s a list of foods that are good and are not good for your beardie: http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.co… But for your question, using crickets, you can feed him once or twice a day, as many as he will eat in about 10 minutes…this can equal somewhere around 50 bugs a day or more.
