Three meals a day was normal in medieval times for everyone. But for peasants the diet would be a lot less elaborate than for nobility or royalty. Breakfast (at around 6 am) would just be bread and ale. Dinner (the main meal of the day) at around 11 am, would be a more substantial meal, with vegetables like peas, bean, garlic and onions, often made into a soup, bread, and perhaps some eggs, cheese, or bacon, or for wealthier peasants some lamb or beef. Fruit like pears, apples, and cherries were eaten in season, and nuts and berries were also eaten. Supper, a lighter meal, was served at around 6 pm.
