How many living cells are found in the smallest microscopic organisms?
The smallest microscopic organisms are unicellular, meaning ‘made of one, single cell’. Living things such as amoebas and bacteria are unicellular. However, within cells are smaller parts called organelles which are like the organs within our own body. Each organelle has a different function. For example, mitochondria are like the generators of a cell, making energy for it to move, work and survive.
