How many languages should be offered for classroom instruction in the high school?
When I attended high school in the late eighties, the only languages that were offered in my school district were French, German, and Spanish. At the very least we need these offered in Roseville Area Schools, plus Mandarin Chinese. I cannot come up with an exact number at this time, but I am a solid proponent of our students becoming bilingual or trilingual to the best of their ability. 14. Should the number of instructional days for students per year be increased from the current standard? Answer: I don’t know that increasing the number of school days actually accomplishes what we want. I think what’s most important is the quality of those days, not the quantity.
