My mother tongue is English, but I can speak Spanish almost fluently. I have learned French before (although I’m not that good at it) and I am currently learning some Japanese. I find Spanish the easiest because it has simple linguistic rules – e.g. most feminine words end in “a” and most masculine words end in “o”. The conjugation rules are also easy, for example at the end of most “ar” verbs (e.g. “nadar” – to swim) you can conjugate it in the present tense like so: 1st person: o (e.g. “nado”) – I swim 2nd person: as (e.g. “nadas”) – You swim 3rd person: a (e.g. “nada”) – He/she/it swims 1st person plural: amos (e.g. “nadamos”) – We swim 2nd person plural: ais (e.g. “nadais”) – You (plural) swim 3rd person plural: an (e.g. “nadan”) – They swim There are many conjugation rules this simple in Spanish, and so far I’ve found it really easy.
