How many kilograms of biosolids are generated each year in Calgary?
Nearly 20 million kilograms or approximately 9500 tanker truckloads of biosolids are produced, transported and recycled on area farmland each year. Over 140,000,000 cubic meters of treated effluent is discharged into the Bow River each year and that’s enough treated water to fill 128 Olympic sized swimming pools every day of the year!
