How many Jedi were on Geonosis?
There were 200 Jedi on Geonosis. Most, but not all, of the Jedi Council was present. Some people have questioned why there were so few Jedi present in comparison to the forces that were brought against them. From the Databank: “…increasing violence in the galaxy sparked by a Separatist movement overburdened the valiant protectors. Their ranks were spread thin trying to maintain the peace, and many Jedi fell during the crisis. When it came to war, and the first shots of the Clone Wars were fired on Geonosis, only a scant 200 Jedi were readily available for the conflict.” There are more than 9,000 Jedi throughout the galaxy, but only about 200 remain at the Temple on Coruscant. Despite the transmission from Obi-Wan, the Jedi Council may not have known just how serious the situation was.
