How many items will the NCTS handle?
NCTS can handle a maximum of 999 items per declaration. (NCTS web users will be limited to 99 items). Practically, the allowable size of the declaration depends on the amount of information for each item eg length of goods description, previous document references etc. The declaration must not exceed 100,000 characters in total. The concession to use Paper load lists as an alternative was withdrawn throughout the Common/Community Transit area on 1 January 2005. The ‘List of Items’ option in NCTS has replaced paper load lists. Paper load lists can now only be presented during NCTS fallback.
