How many Italians Immigrated to America from 1910 to 1920?
From “Immigration: The Italians” (http://library.thinkquest.org/20619/Italian.html) In 1850, less than 4,000 Italians were reportedly in the U.S. However in 1880, merely four years after the influx of Italian immigrants migrated, the population skyrocketed to 44,000, and by 1900, 484,027 However, this number does not agree with “Emigration to the United States: Online Lessons” which reports that 655,888 immigrants arrived between 1890 – 1900. Using the latter source for pre-1900 immigration we get approx 660,000 pre-1900 2,100,000 1900 – 1910 With a total of 4,190,000 1820 – 1920 Subtracting the pre 1910 populations from the 1920 total, we get 4,190,000 – 2,100,00 – 660,000 = 3320000 Sources: This is my estimation based on numbers given by http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/USAEitaly.
