How many Islander 28 sailboats were built?

0

The highest hull number that I have heard about is hull number 415. That boat, a 1985 Islander 28 named “Sabina” is or was owned by Carl Draw in San Francisco (I don not have an up to date eMail address for Carl). The HIN on Sabina is XLY28415K485, which would indicate that Sabina was laid up in November of 1984 and commissioned in 1985. Based on our present information, Islander Yachts haulted molding of I-28 hulls in 1984. No 1986 Islander 28 sailboats seem to exist. If Sabina is not the last unit assembled, she must be close to the end of production. Islander Yachts went out of business on May 26th, 1986. If you have further I-28 hull knowledge, please send it to us. Thanks!
