How many IP PBX open source projects are there?
There are two major open source IP PBX projects. Asterisk is a complete PBX solution developed by a community of nine full time developers and 90 part time contributors. The Asterisk project started over five years ago and represents a functionally rich IP PBX solution that is well supported by the community. SIPfoundry is the open source community behind a number of SIP based open source VoIP projects. Some of their best known projects include sipX (includes a SIP softphone and full PBX solution) and reSIProcate (a complete SIP protocol stack for use in application development).
