How many Internet users are there in Japan?
The Japanese Ministry of Telecommunications reported that there were 23 million Japanese households with Internet connections at the end of January, 2002. These consisted of 19.95 million dial-up Internet accounts, 1.33 million cable broadband accounts and 1.79 million ADSL accounts. Nielsen//NetRatings conduct regular surveys which give some good insight on Internet usage in Japan. They have estimated that there are further 7.5 million people who access the Internet from their place of employment.
