How Many Houses Are There At Hogwarts In The Harry Potter Series?
There are four houses at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. The four house names are named after the founders of Hogwarts – Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. When a student first attends Hogwarts, he/she is sorted into one of the four houses by the Sorting Hat. The Sorting Hat will place the student into the house in which they are best suited. Gryffindor is for students who are brave, Hufflepuff is for students who are hard working and loyal, Ravenclaw is for clever students and Slytherin is for cunning students.
