How many hours of continuing education must a physician complete to maintain his or her license?
All physicians must complete 30 hours of Category 1 American Medical Association (AMA) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved programs from January 1 of the even-numbered year until December 31 of the odd-numbered year. This requirement is subject to audit by the Medical Examining Board (MEB). Proof of attendance at these Category 1 programs is required.
