How many hours must a Graduate Assistant enroll in to maintain the assistantship?
Graduate assistants with a 0.50 FTE appointment or greater appointment must enroll in at least 6 hours during the fall and spring semesters. Graduate assistants may not be required to enroll for summer courses. Graduate Assistants should contact their department and if applicable, the International Student Office for guidelines for summer enrollment. Graduate assistants with less than a 0.50 FTE appointment must enroll in at least 9 hours during the fall and spring semesters (four hours during the summer session).
