How many hours a day (24 hour period) can an employee be required to work?
A. Except in the case of an emergency that constitutes an imminent hazard to life or property, an employer shall permit an employee to take and an employee shall take not less than 8 consecutive hours off work in each unbroken 24 hour period of employment. These 8 hours is in addition to the breaks required during the work day (see next question).
