How many homes have been damaged by flooding in Ormond Beach, in Volusia County Florida?”

Residents in Central Florida are looking to the skies for a little relief this Memorial Day holiday. Residents are worried that more rain could make a bad situation even worse after more than 27 inches of rain fell and drenched the area. The mayor of Ormond Beach has declared a state of emergency in the city. City officials say at least 100 homes have been damaged by the flood waters. At the height of the storm, eleven homes had to be evacuated as people headed for higher ground. According to a Volusia County official, Federal Emergency Management as well as local and state damage assessment teams were on the scene over the weekend surveying the damage and trying to figure out just how much money this storm cost them.
