How Many Homeopathic Practitioners in US?
Hi Karen, I thought you might be able to help me field a question from a local reporter. for use in a newspaper article about homeopathy practices. She wants to know “how many homeopaths are there now in the US? Just an approxiamate number”? I am having a hard time with this one. There are so many different types of training, credentials, etc. If I make the category broader to “homeopathic practitioners” this would include naturopaths and DOs and MDs who may only do homeopathy as a portion of their practice. We know there are two classical homeopaths in Alaska, and about 8 naturopaths that prescribe occasionally. I don’t think any of us would show up in a search of the CHC database, for instance. Is there any way to make an educated guess on this number at this time? The NCH referred me to Todd Rowe’s survey, with 11,000+ responses, but those folks are not all practitioners. I wonder how you’d approach this. I’ll also write to Dr. Rowe at the AMCofH. Thanks and Happy New Year!
