How many hair follicles are typical for a hair replacement session?
There are many factors that determine the number of grafts transplanted in one surgical session. During the FREE evaluation and preoperative planning, many of these questions will be answered. Consideration is given to both the degree of your hair loss and the density of the hair in your donor area. Additional consideration is given to the amount of surgical area that can be covered with your existing hair. Typically 200 up to 2,000 grafts can be transplanted in one session. Exceeding the 2,000 graft mark can reduce the success of follicle survival as grafts may be placed in too close of a proximity to one another, subsequently not allowing enough blood flow of healthy nutrients to aid in proper healing.
