I agree with jogi, 2-3 in a heated, cycled tank. I think you may have already asked this question, if so I have answered already. You could get away with 5 if you carry out weekly 20% water changes, but I wouldn’t recommend that many. The fish may be tiny in the shop, but they do grow! A good guideline is 1″ of fish per gallon, or, 1cm of fish per litre. You should really have 4 at the most. Please note, this is only a guideline. For example, if you had a 10 gallon tank, you cannot put a 10″ fish in it, but you could put 10 x 1″ fish in it, etc etc. I would NOT advise putting females in as someone else suggested unless you want your tank to be full of babies! And males won’t kill each other, I kept a pair of males and they were fine together. I do hope that Pets at Home would know the difference between a male and female guppy!
