How many grants will be awarded, what is the maximum award amount, and what is the grant period?
Dozens of grants will be awarded. Each grant will total up to $360,000 over four years, or approximately $90,000/year. Awards will begin on December 15, 2009, and will end on December 14, 2013. We expect that all applicants will apply for the full four years of funding. Because this work can be complex and time-consuming, proposals for shorter durations would not be considered competitive.
