How many girls does it take to make cement?
Text written in: English N 06 10′ 0.2.4” E 080 05′ 26.8” are the coordinates of the house that I helped build at the weekend, 5535 miles as the crow flies from Whitley bay. It’s just ment to be a temporary wooden structure but I can’t imagine them taking it down. My hammering techniques still haven’t improved since I wacked dad on the thumb putting in the bathroom window 10+ years ago. It took 3 of us girlies to try and figure out how you make cement Sri Lankan style, well 2 Sri Lankan guys came to help after spending 15 minutes laughing at us. Can’t beleive how much has changed in 2 weeks (it’s the same place where we painted the school) there’s a lot more wooden houses up and lots of clearing has been done. Next weekend I’m going to learn how to be a brickie, hopefully I’ll be better at that then hammering and sawing, although I can just about manage to dig holes-not necessarily in the right place.
