How many gallons of soy biodiesel are produced in Ohio?
Ohio has the capacity to produce nearly 60 million gallons of soy biodiesel each year. Soy biodiesel not only contributes to Ohio’s economy, but also helps reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Expansion of the American biodiesel industry will displace 242 million barrels of crude oil between 2008 and 2015 and will add $24 billion to the U.S. economy. This means less oil will need to be imported, and $13.6 billion will remain in America that would otherwise be spent on foreign oil.
