How many foosball tables have they had? Why is it called foosball?
The answer to the “how many” question is a little complicated. They’ve had two tables, but technically three have been used on the show. The original foosball table, purchased in episode 1.12, was stolen in episode 4.02, along with the chairs (see item 3.20 above). In episode 4.07, Chandler buys a new one. It was dark brown with a bold, marble-like pattern on the side. It was still in use until Monica destroyed it to rescue Chick Jr. and Duck Jr, at the end of season 10. However, there was a different table used at least once. In episode 6.06, Joey was angry about losing to Chandler. He kicked the table and the legs on one end collapsed. That table was black with a more subtle pattern on it. Most likely it was just a “stunt table,” for the collapse scene. They didn’t officially clarify the plot as to whether Joey and Chandler fixed or replaced the table after Joey kicked it. But as the same table was used in the episodes preceding and after that one, I think we are to assume they fixed
